The Oxbend CollectionStarting at

Born from a desire to create a dining chair that was comfortable, organic, and elegant in its simplicity, the Oxbend incorporates subtle hand-shaped tubular curves and classic wedged-tenon leg joinery. Doubling as an occasional chair or a bedroom valet chair, the Oxbend is versatile and minimal; it seeks to complement your existing furniture.
White Ash Wood Care: For our White Ash products, we have transitioned from our previous white finish to a traditional Danish soap finish. Since hardwood is a natural material there can be subtle variations in color and grain. To see an accurate representation of our finishes, swipe to see the photo of our white ash soap finish in our swatches.
For smaller items (Tripod Table, Oxbend Chair, and Oxbend Stool) we are usually able to parcel ship, via UPS. You’ll be able to track them via your order confirmation, and standard transit time is 3-5 business days. For larger items (everything not listed above) our standard shipping is via private van delivery. We cultivate a network of independant white glove shippers who ensure the best care while transporting our pieces of furniture to your home. If you need additional services, please contact us.

After a couple years of production of our original collection, Justin began dreaming about the next step. We needed to offer some dining / occasional seating, and an idea began percolating for an austere, minimalist chair that could include more classic wood joinery techniques than did our original collection.
Development on what would become the Oxbend Collection began in May of 2019, but the ideation was pretty slow… after some failed attempts, the first Oxbend chair didn’t begin to take final form until October. At that point, Justin had been planning on launching a variety of new items at the Architectural Digest Show in early 2020, but had the realization in late 2019 that the Oxbend chair was actually a full collection: it could be rendered into a bench and a bar stool, offering the opportunity to launch an entire cohesive collection at one go. Those latter two items have been our best-sellers since that time!
The inspiration for the Oxbend Collection was a direct link to Justin’s first exposure to the great Danish designer, Hans Wegner. His practicality and his balanced inclusion of curves while maintaining manufacturability were crucial insights and aspects of design that we wanted to include in our new collection. Our expertise with jigs and fixtures for efficiently cutting curves, coves, and mortise/tenon joinery began to be developed in this time period.
