These leather seat pads fit the Oxbend Chair or Bar Stool. They incorporate a non-slip pad in the bottom to keep them in place on the chair. Available in our five different high quality Sørenson upholstery leathers: Matte Black, Olive, Walnut, Saddle Brown, or Nubuck Ecru, sourced from Denmark.
We sourced our very favorite leathers for these cushions, and they are assembled and stitched in the leather studio adjoining our wood shop.

White Ash Wood Care: For our White Ash products, we have transitioned from our previous white finish to a traditional Danish soap finish. Since hardwood is a natural material there can be subtle variations in color and grain. For smaller items (Tripod Table, Oxbend Chair, and Oxbend Stool) we are usually able to parcel ship, via UPS. You’ll be able to track them via your order confirmation, and standard transit time is 3-5 business days. For larger items (everything not listed above) our standard shipping is via private van delivery. We cultivate a network of independant white glove shippers who ensure the best care while transporting our pieces of furniture to your home. If you need additional services, please contact us.
Because Fernweh Woodworking offers furniture on a made-to-order basis, we do not accept returns. The Warranty Period for furniture purchased from Fernweh Woodworking is 5 years from the date of purchase. Much like Justin’s experience in self-taught woodworking, upholstery practices were completely unknown to Justin before he started to be intrigued by them. He envisioned an upholstered seating line down the road (which became the Fjoon collection) but the immediate need in 2020 was for upholstered seating pads for the Oxbend Collection.
Justin again worked with his friend Alex Collins (principle architect at Blue Forty Architecture) to develop a novel solution to a basic problem: how to keep the seat pads from sliding around on the chairs, while not adding in unsightly straps/loops or cumbersome magnets.
We developed a non-slip, branded seat pad that could be stitched directly into the underside of the leather seat pads. Justin spent untold hours trying different ideas, and learning how to use his new heavy-duty sewing machine, and the final result is a beautiful, dense, yet not over-designed seat pad consisting of five layers of material; glued, stitched and hand edge-dyed pads.
